Happy New Year everybody!
I can’t believe a year has come and gone already – it has gone so fast and so much has happened since last year.
I’ve had a new baby, LO turned three, Baby Girl had her first Christmas and is now standing and cruising at 7 months, I started my yoga practice, fitness journey, and Daddy P and I had our 10th year anniversary. I’ve also found out on of my closest friends is expecting. Such joyous times!
2016 was not really a bad year for us. I’ve seen loads of things on my SM feeds like “f**k 2016 and its negativity, etc” so maybe it wasn’t the best year for some. We did experience slightly more money problems this year but that was to be expected as we now have an extra person added to our family.
Life Goals 2017
I set myself some pretty achievable goals for 2017. I don’t believe in New Year’s resolution because the term gets used a lot for novelty goals that people never really stick to. For me, 2017 is all about adopting a sustainable lifestyle; eating a balanced diet, keeping fit regularly, adding in a few minutes of meditation here and there, and to be mindful in everything I do.
I also want to get back into spa therapies. I can’t have. BSc degree in Spa Management and not make use of it right?! That means I will be practising massages and facials again which I am really excited about. I gave my mother-to-be friend a prenatal massage last week and she loved it. I also felt well in my element again and it was a lovely experience for both of us. I’m hoping to get set up and start taking bookings in Feb from friends and family so wish me luck!
I also need to start driving lessons again, especially if I’m planning to be a mobile therapist, I’m going to need something more permanent than Uber rides. My yoga practice is also going well and I’m still doing 2 classes a week (or at least 1 class if I can’t fit both in) and I really want to undertake a Yoga Teacher Training course in a couple of years when my progress and practice should be a little more advanced. I’ve got a teacher in mind who I’d like to study with so it’s just a matter of saving.
A family holiday for 2017 would be fabulous but it’s last on the list as it’s not as important for me as I know there is more to life than an annual beach holiday although that’d be super nice! LO and I (plus bump) went on holiday at the beginning of 2016 to Fuerteventura and he absolutely loved it. He loved the sun, the sand, and just the super-chilled out vibe. Unfortunately Daddy P couldn’t join us as he had just gotten back from Atlanta but we face-timed/whatsapped him a few times to keep in touch.

New Year, New Me
… Well I’ll still be the same me, just a better version of me. 🙂
I’m super excited to see what the new year has in store for our growing family. There’s loads of things already in the pipeline and I’m looking forward to seeing everything fall into place.
I leave you with an excerpt from my ‘Everyday Happiness’ book:
January 1st: Make a Gratitude Jar
Decorate an empty jar, to be filled throughout the year with notes about good things that happen. Don’t let these good things pass by unnoticed, however small they may be.

I wish you all a blessed 2017 and may the new year bring you all happiness, good health, luck and lots of love.
